Best sounding joint in the Chi. Chicago’s only fez tavern” The Liar’s Club is one of the most unique Chicago clubs and one of my personal favorites. With its red-lit, black painted gothic interior, the Liar’s Club is a hit with those of you who like Delilah’s and the Lincoln Tap Room but are looking to dance or see a band (a recent addition) and pick up. The joint is also reputed to be haunted, because of a woman who was butchered on the premises, and Joe Walsh is reputed to have lived upstairs prior to the Liar’s Club. For the faint of heart, be forewarned: as one of their ads proclaimed, the Liar’s Club is a place where, “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy,” (Obi-Wan Kenobi to Luke Skywalker prior to their foray into the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope).

Good bands. Cheap drinks. Chill staff. Cash only. Get in or get out. They get it. Pick up what they’re putting down.

We had a damn good time at the Liars Club! All the staff is top notch there. Barry was great and so was the blonde baddie working with him. They worked really fast serving the whole bar while serving up great attitudes! We will definitely go back!

This place is everything a dive bar should be—dark, gritty, loud, and full of character. Caught Yakuza there and the show was unreal, intimate setting, killer sound, and a crowd that actually gets the music. The vibe is raw and unpolished in the best way, like stepping into an underground scene that never sold out. Bonus points for having non-alcoholic options like THC lemonade—finally a place that caters to the sober crowd without killing the mood. If you're into heavy music, weird art on the walls, and that classic Chicago edge, this spot is a must.

This venue is truly awesome! I recently attended a show at this venue. It was my first time at Liar's Club, and I had a great time. The staff was very nice and accommodating and the venue itself looks super cool. The show was great, and I really enjoyed rocking out with the bands. I highly recommend everyone see a show at Liar's Club.

Absolutely blown away with the sound, the vibe, the service. Herb is a beautiful soul, kind and funny. The crowd was regulars with great attitude, the bands were stellar. Drink prices were great. I could have made this trip just to visit The Liar's Club.

Absolutely LOVE this bar! Fantastic staff that is always fun and friendly. Great place to see live music as well. Highly recommended.

Authentic. Genuine. Original. Real. Punk. The people accept you for you and are happy you're there. Whether you're solo or looking to make new friends, you'll find other like-minded individuals and groups here looking to enjoy an honest drink and to listen to good music. Live music abounds and the DJs are no joke. The atmosphere elevates your soul and the vibe promotes imagination regardless of the day of the week. Experience it for yourself.
